A Space for Every Child

About our Playground Project

The All Abilities Playground Project is dedicated to creating an inclusive, accessible, and safe play area for all students, regardless of their abilities. This project aims to design a space where every child can play, learn, and interact freely, fostering a sense of belonging for all members of our school community.

With features designed to accommodate a variety of needs, including sensory-rich equipment and accessible pathways, this playground will become a vibrant hub where creativity, friendship, and fun know no bounds. Together, we can ensure that all children have equal opportunities to thrive in an environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion.

Join us in bringing this vital project to life, and help create a playground where every child can feel empowered and included.

Playground Project Update – We’ve Made Progress!

We’re thrilled to update you on the progress of our All Abilities Playground Project! Thanks to your continued support, we’ve successfully taken the first step by securing a quote from a professional arborist, who has assessed the site and provided us with a clear plan for the work needed.

To move forward, we’ve broken the project down into three phases:

Phase 1 – Grounds and Flooring:
In this phase, we are currently fundraising to install rubber flooring to ensure a safe, accessible, and durable surface for all students. This type of flooring is not only safer for children but also requires less maintenance than traditional surfaces. We will also prepare the ground by levelling and clearing areas to make way for the new structures.

Phase 2 – Shade Structures:
We’ll be adding shade structures to provide much-needed protection from the sun, creating cool, safe spaces for children to relax and play comfortably. But it's also one of the most costly as well. The current shading is no longer up to the Minister of Education standards.

Phase 3 – Playground Equipment:
The final phase will introduce inclusive and fun playground equipment designed to accommodate all abilities, allowing every child to engage in active play and exploration.

In addition to these exciting updates, we have applied for a grant to help fund the next stages of the project. We should hear back in November and are hopeful that the grant will provide the financial support needed to continue making this vision a reality.

Thank you for your continued support! We’re one step closer to creating a safe, inclusive, and fun space for all our students to enjoy. Stay tuned for more updates!
